Editorial policy

How GeneratorCalc uses evidence and estimates in its generator calculators and guides, and how calculation changes are reviewed and recorded.

Editorial responsibility

Team Best GeneratorCalc is responsible for the site’s explanations and correction process. Questions and evidence can be sent through our contact page.

How evidence enters the calculator

  1. Identify the source and the equipment or scenario it describes.
  2. Check units and distinguish real input watts from VA, current, output ratings and manufacturer recommendations.
  3. Retain provenance, estimates, uncertainty and applicability conditions.
  4. Validate a versioned dataset before activating it. Unsupported entries remain outside the calculator.
  5. Check calculation behavior against reference scenarios and automated consistency tests.

Research and testing disclosures

A document review, calculation scenario and physical equipment test answer different questions. Future hands-on evaluations will identify equipment, test conditions, measurements and limitations. Contributors and relevant qualifications will be identified alongside their published work.

Independence and relationships

Industry contacts do not imply manufacturer endorsement or certification. Future evaluations involving supplied equipment, sponsorship or affiliate links will disclose that relationship alongside the evaluation. Manufacturer recommendations appear separately from calculated requirements. This release does not offer affiliate product recommendations.

Dataset and assumption versions identify the basis of results. See our correction policy.
